I&D: Hi Hofit! Welcome to the I&D interviews. Your name in the world of fashion needs no further introduction. Your presence on the red carpet events is fabulously mesmerizing. What makes Hofit the most fashionable girl?

Hofit Golan: Most fashionable? I don’t know if that is me lol. I just love playing with fashion, experimenting with new designers while also staying true to my own personal style. Fashion should be personal. For me it’s a form of expression, an art. I express my mood through what I wear. Getting it wrong or right isn’t important. Having fun playing dress up is what I enjoy.

I&D: You have the most envious body….what’s your boldest style statement ever?

Hofit Golan: umm you made me blush 🙂 I think in my crazier moment I have worn some very daring Scott Henshall and dsquared2 dresses, super sexy with lots of skin on show. I don’t know where I get the confidence to step out in such dresses. In Cannes I have worn some sexy dresses showing lots of back and even some midriff. I tend to either go for sophisticated and elegant or totally out there…I am looking for the middle ground more these days but I am sure more daring fashion moments still lie ahead.

I&D: Your entrepreneurial skills are praiseworthy, What’s more exciting as an individual your modeling career, you as a TV personality or your association in designing?

Hofit Golan: All the above, to me it’s one and the same. As long as I am creating and working and expressing then I am happy. Having my experience co-owning a successful high fashion brand and being partners with a top designer gave me great insight into the world of fashion. The brands I model for are more like family to me. Elizabeth Grant skin care and cosmetics was my first major and is still my main Campaign and I love their skin care products. When we shoot I get to film the shoots for my TV show and present. I get to bring my creative knowledge about fashion into the styling of the shoot and often wear dresses from my Label with Scott Henshall. So much of what I do between TV/Modelling and fashion crosses over that I see it as all parts of the same puzzle.

I&D: Tell us about your working with the British Designer Scott Henshall.

Hofit Golan: Scott is an amazing and gifted fashion designer and we go back to 2003. We have launched brands together from UK to Tokyo. We’ve travelled the world together and dressed some of the world’s biggest stars from Madonna, Bruce Willis to Victoria Beckham. Next week Scott and I are shooting the campaign for our new shoe line which I am the face of. We also are in the process of bringing back a very iconic British fashion brand, revamping and relaunching it…so watch this space….can’t tell just yet but soon I will be able to talk about it.

I&D: What are the different causes you relate yourself to?

Hofit Golan: There are so many I don’t know where to start. I helped Tsunami survivor, supermodel Petra Nemcova launched her foundation Happy Hearts. I am an ambassador for Natasha Bedingfield’s Global Angels. I also helped Naomi Campbell’s fashion for relief, worked on Haiti projects with Yele even long before the earthquake. Other charities I support are Amfar’s cinema Against Aids and Elton John John’s EJAF foundation. There are many others that have no big profile or celeb names but are just amazing causes. In-fact the reason I came to London years ago long before all the TV and fashion work was to work on a major charity project. I deeply believe we can all do more for others while still helping ourselves. Its not a choice of one or the other. We all should do both.

I&D: What has kept your spirits high so far?

Hofit Golan: The love of my friends and family. Work and traveling and discovering new places. A good laugh with good friends. Being independent and new pair of Louboutins 🙂

I&D: How far has fashion progressed as you see it?

Hofit Golan: I dont think we can ever say fashion has progressed. Fashion is an art not a science. So its personal expression which takes from the past, the now and what designers hope is the ‘ feel of tomorrow’. I do think fashion has become much more relevant and there is power in expression through fashion. Today more people watch major award shows like Oscars and The Grammy’s to see what people are wearing than who won what. Look at the success of Lady Gaga, without her bold and often mad fashion choices, she would be just another pop star, not a mega star or an icon like Madonna. (who has invented the art of re-invention through fashion)

I&D: What are the few basic elements of fashion?

Hofit Golan: Be yourself. Don’t fallow trends, create them. Don’t be afraid to mix high street with designer, vintage with new. Fashion is about taking risks while knowing yourself and what you like.

I&D: How would you define romance and beauty?

Hofit Golan: BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. Confidence in one self-combined with humility is beautiful to me. Romance…well that’s private 😉

I&D: How does it feel to be the Celebrity Face of beauty and luxury skin care brand “Elizabeth Grant” ?

Hofit Golan: Elizabeth grant are like family to me. Not only are they amazing people and a great company to work with but they produce the most amazing products from Caviar eye pads, to the Socializer eye cream, to creams with 24 Carat Gold! They are always innovating and creating new products and winning awards. I am very proud to be a spokes Model for EG and hope to carry on representing them in the years to come. I&D: What’s your style mantra?

Hofit Golan: In fashion we are not saving lives, just making them more beautiful! Be yourself, be open to change while true to my style. I love old school Hollywood, glamor and Elegance but also young, edgy and chic. My Mantra is you can never go wrong if you are having fun.

I&D: What message would you convey to those who religiously follow you footsteps?

Hofit Golan: Not to lol. Look at your own feet, put some fabulous heels on and make your own tracks! We are our own leaders. I have made many fashion mistakes but regret none. I love every moment of playing dress up but its just cloths in the end of the day 😉 and you should know during the day I am in track suits or jeans. Casual and comfortable and happy that way!
